Congratulations on the arrival of the new member(s) of your family! We are delighted that you wish to bring up your child/children in your Catholic faith and to celebrate the sacrament of baptism here with us in St Joseph’s Parish. Baptisms take place on Sundays at 1.30pm.

Please collect a baptism card from the Monastery reception; complete it and return it as soon as possible.

Preparation for Baptism

Prior to the baptism, the parents and sponsors are required to attend a baptism meeting. These take place on either the 1st  Tuesday of the month in St Gerard’s Parish Hall at 7pm.

Letter of release: If you are not resident in St Joseph’s Parish a ‘release letter’ from your own Parish is required. You can get this from your parish secretary during office hours.

The Baptism Day

Please be in the Church by 1.30pm. Bring a Baptismal Candle.

Please note, it is customary to make an offering to the Church on the day of the baptism.
